We are happy to announce our freakin fast new search. In the past weeks we have been working hard to get a faster and more scalable search into Memex. And we did it.
Before: Downloading 20k websites took around 25h and a single text heavy website sometimes took minutes to index.
After: On a medium powered computer with a proper internet connection, importing 20k websites now takes less than 90 minutes. And even with this many documents, a 10k words document takes 500ms to index.
Hello, So far I have saved my bookmarks as a Twitter message. With a poor search, I was able to rediscover pages and ideas. I can get the bookmarks as a CSV file. Can I import this CSV file into memex and index it automatically?
I understand that the search term must be an exact match but when I search for "02270840" from the title it didn't find the match. No results also if I search for "How". Don't know if this is the expected behavior.
I have been using the extension for a few hours and find myself constantly adding sites to the blacklist. Have you thought about implementing a whitelist instead? Let the user to opt-in what sites they want indexing. I have seen others also commented on security concerns because of financial or health institution sites are captured by default. I would think a whitelist would be much easier to implement than trying to figure out what needs to be on the default blacklist?
