Tutorial: Tags, Bookmarks & Collections

How to use: 

1. Adding to Collections

You have 2 ways of adding pages to collections:

  1. Via the  button in the extensions shortcuts of the browser, then click on "Add to collection(s)"
  2. In the overview you can simply drag any result element, hover over the  icon, and drop it over a list you'd like to add it to. 

2. Tagging Pages

You have 2 ways of adding pages to collections:

  1. Via the  button in the extensions shortcuts of the browser, then click on "Add tag(s)"
  2. In the overview you click on the  icon you can find on each result element, and pick tags you'd like to add.

3. Bookmarking websites

You have 2 ways of adding pages to collections:

  1. Via the  button in the extensions shortcuts of the browser, then click on the  icon
  2. In the overview you click on the  icon you can find on each result element.
  3. Via the regular browsers bookmarks. All bookmarks you add there are automatically bookmarked in Memex.

Current Limitations:

  1. You can't yet do bulk selection of pages
  2. You can't add annotations/comments to specific collections. 
  3. you can't do subfolders
  4. You can't sync it with your bookmarking folders

Improvement Roadmap:

  1. Bulk select content and add to lists
  2. Adding subfoldes and trees, and syncing with your browser's bookmarking folders
  3. Sorting annotations into collections
  4. Sharing collections with others, privately or publicly. 
  5. Co-editing collections with peers and/or the public.
